… and he did a great job!  I had a workshop for school (I’m on maternity leave), and it was the first time I’d left Thomas for any length of time.  I prepped Daddy as best I could.  I informed him of the best procedures for warming the bottle (in the crock-pot for 10 minutes, hotter than you’d think),  napping (put him down when he’s tired and let him fuss for 5 or 10 minutes), and getting through the day (take him for a walk, go in the car, play in the exersaucer, sing songs).

Around noon, I had a lunch break so I emailed Daddy to check in.  Baby was down for his nap already, and he had taken his first bottle with no problem. Success!  Daddy was very proud of himself, and I felt a huge relief.  I don’t like the idea of anyone but me taking care of Thomas.  Daddy had been especially nervous about the bottle, since he had never been successful with it in the past.  I managed to perfect the bottle warming this week, thank goodness.

When I got home, they were both glad to see me.  I got to snuggle and hold my little guy.  I guess that’s what it will be like every day once I start back at work.
